FGV PMO currently provides methodological support, including project monitoring training and assistance, as well as project management tools, for the institution’s schools, centers and other bodies. It also consolidates information in a monthly report on FGV’s main projects for the Board of Directors and area managers.

Project Management: Methodological Support, Tools and Governance
  • Implementation of a process to monitor, control and mitigate risks in high-priority projects under execution;

  • Monitoring of external and internal projects, with a focus on innovation;

  • Implementation of a system for tracking projects at FGV (the Project Management System);

  • Monthly sharing of a dashboard with areas, presenting indicators that monitor project execution;

  • Implementation of an AI-powered analytical report based on data generated on the dashboard, to support the decision-making process for new FGV projects;

  • Consolidation of a governance system for FGV PMO and its relations with FGV’s schools, centers and other bodies;

  • Evaluation of project management performance and the development of plans to improve the organization’s project management performance;

  • Preparation and provision of manuals to guide different areas of FGV on the classification, management and monitoring of projects, using tools aligned with project management best practices.

Project Classification Manual

Objective: Provide guidance on the procedures for classifying technical assistance and applied research projects into categories A, B or C. This classification is based on complexity criteria, which determine which projects will be monitored by FGV PMO.

Management Manual

Objective: Provide guidance on the instruments to be used, as well as the procedures required for the proper management of a project and achievement of its objectives and results, based on project management best practices and in accordance with the classification of each project: A, B or C.

Monitoring Manual

Objective: Provide guidance on the procedures and tools used for monitoring projects and on the data to be collected and reported to FGV management, in order to ensure the legitimacy of information, contributing to the generation of results and helping improve the performance of projects, while enabling appropriate monitoring, according to the classification assigned to each project: A, B or C.

Training

Development and delivery of project management training for FGV’s schools, centers and other bodies, covering basic project management concepts in areas of knowledge such as project scopes, schedules and costs, in addition to preparatory courses for PMI Project Management Professional certification, in online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

Benchmarking

Execution of innovation and project management benchmarking together with European universities, innovation and research centers, project management institutes and internationally recognized companies, with the following goals:

  • Analyze the current status of innovation and project management initiatives at FGV;

  • Seek good ideas used at the institutions visited to adapt and implement them at FGV;

  • Cooperate with European institutions, to enable the improvement of FGV’s innovation and project management processes, resulting in new projects and business opportunities.
